— HONEST ANSWERS

The questions people actually ask.

Why not just use LegalZoom?

Online templates aren't tailored to Maryland law or your specific family situation, and most don't include the Living Will or Medical Power of Attorney that complete the picture. When you work with us, your full estate plan is drafted by an attorney who knows Maryland probate court — and someone you can actually call if your situation changes. Templates can't pick up the phone.

Is this just a "basic" estate plan?

This package is built for the essentials every Maryland adult should have: a Will (naming beneficiaries, designating an executor, guardianship for minor children), a Living Will (your medical wishes if you can't speak for yourself), and a Medical Power of Attorney (who decides for you). If your situation calls for complex trusts, asset protection, or Medicaid planning, we'll tell you on the consultation — and we can handle those too, separately.

— FAQ

Common questions.

  • How much does it cost?

The individual package is $1,400 flat — that covers your Will, Living Will, and Medical Power of Attorney. The couples package is $2,400 flat for two of each. No hourly billing, no add-on charges for standard inclusions. You know the total before we start.

  • What's actually included in the package?

Three documents that work together as a complete Maryland estate plan: (1) a Last Will and Testament — who gets what, who's the executor, guardianship for minor children; (2) a Living Will (Advance Directive) — your wishes about end-of-life medical care; and (3) a Medical Power of Attorney — who decides for you if you can't decide for yourself. Plus the attorney consultation and one revision.

  • What's the couples package?

For married couples or partners doing their estate planning together, $2,400 flat covers two of every document — two Wills, two Living Wills, and two Medical Powers of Attorney. Includes a joint consultation so we can walk you both through how your documents work together.

  • How long does the whole process take?

Standard turnaround is one week from your completed consultation. Most clients are done from first call to signed documents in 7 days.

  • Is this a real attorney-drafted estate plan?

Yes. Your documents are prepared by Mickey Feldbaum, Esq., through the Law Office of David E. Fink — a Baltimore law firm with 100 years of combined attorney experience across the practice.

  • What if I need a trust, asset protection, or Medicaid planning?

The flat-fee package covers the three essential estate planning documents. If your situation calls for trusts, asset protection, or Medicaid planning, we'll flag it during the consultation and discuss those services separately — no pressure, no obligation.

  • Do I have to come to the office?

Most of the process — consultation, drafting, review — happens by phone and email. We do have an office at 25 Hooks Lane, Baltimore, MD 21208 if you prefer in-person, and signing typically happens there or with arrangements that work for you.

  • What if my situation is more complicated than I thought?

That's exactly what the consultation is for. If the flat-fee package isn't right for you, we'll tell you on the call. We won't sell you a package if you need something more substantial.
